Chris’ Vacation and iPhone Line in New York

July 7th, 2008

Nope. I didn’t take vacation to stand in line like those folks in New York. They’ve been lined up for a few days already. Wow. Anyhow, for the 1st time in a LONG TIME, I took vacation and just lounged around my house with the wife and kids. I normally take vacation from my day job to go to a trade show like CES or a event like Mobius or the MVP Summit. In addition, I decided to stay away from the sites for a week too. I needed a serious break. It was fun, but I did miss ...

lgvu Is this a sexy phone or what? Sure, it’s not Windows Mobile, but dang, it sure looks purdy. That 1000mah battery doesn’t sound too good, but the rest of the specs are pretty nice…

PhoneArena today received press photos and detailed specifications of the upcoming LG Vu for AT&T. There will be two models made avaliable, the CU915 (without Mobile TV antenna) and the CU920 (with Mobile TV antenna), yet we are unsure if there is going to be a price difference between ...

Treo 800w Confirmed Sprint Roadmap

March 29th, 2008

Well, it’s not really news that the Treo 800W is coming, but it’s become quite a bit more official seeing this roadmap and while the carrier has been rumored to be Sprint for a while, this too is now confirmed. I am evaluating the Sprint version of the BlackJack II, the Samsung Ace right now, but I am really looking forward to this release. Palm Treos have done a ton for the Windows Mobile community and the form factor and implementation of Windows Mobile has been excellent in the past. The Verizon 700w offering at CES 2006 was ground ...

Poll : What is the “Perfect” Phone Form Factor?

March 28th, 2008

I am always in search of the perfect phone. My preference changes from front facing keyboard to slider as often as my wife buys shoes. When the i-mate Kjam came out a few years ago, I was all over it and fell in love with the slide out full qwerty keyboard. Then came the BlackJack, the Moto Q, and the Palm Treo 750. I loved those too. Very good for email replies and such. I carried the BlackJack and the Palm Treo for quite a while before going back to another slider, the AT&T Tilt. Right now I am ...

t-mobile-mda-compact-iv-at-cebit-20082

T-Mobile have been teasing CeBIT visitors with their latest Windows Mobile smartphone, the MDA Compact IV, keeping the slick HSDPA handset safely behind glass. We were told this was the only Compact IV they’d brought with them, hence the reluctance. The device has a 3-megapixel camera with autofocus, 4GB of internal memory and a 640 x 480 touchscreen together with 3D graphics.

T-Mobile MDA Compact IV ...

Get an OQO for as little as $999!

February 18th, 2008

Wow. This is a great deal. They are refurbed, but who cares at that price.

oqooutlet

You can grab more powerful models for cheap too, but this base model is only $999. I think, but don’t quote me, the original price when these were released was $1500. I was planning on grabbing one after CES in 2007, but something came up and gobbled my slush fund. I already have the Advantage now, so i’d hate to get another couch web browser.

Slacker Portable Player Review at Cnet

February 7th, 2008

Cnet reviews the new Slacker Portable Player. The numbers don’t look too good for this hyped up player either. Cnet gives it a 6.3/10. I was really interested in looking at this one and this review is making me reconsider purchasing.

The good: The Slacker Portable Player offers an innovative way to discover new music on the go, and its screen is extra large and full of information. The interface is intuitive (minus the touch strip), and the service that complements the device is ...
