Robert Scoble Leaves Fast Company Joins GBM

March 31st, 2008

We are proud, and a bit surprised, to announce that beginning April 1, Robert Scoble will join the GottaBeMobile.com team as a roving reporter covering mobile technology. According to GBM head honcho, Rob Bushway:

“We started talking to Scoble at the Bloghaus at CES. At that time he had already committed to Fast Company and it looked like things wouldn’t work out. But Robert contacted me recently and said that he was once again looking to make a move and he wanted to get back to evangelizing Tablet PCs and mobile technology. ...

lgvu Is this a sexy phone or what? Sure, it’s not Windows Mobile, but dang, it sure looks purdy. That 1000mah battery doesn’t sound too good, but the rest of the specs are pretty nice…

Treo 800w Confirmed Sprint Roadmap

March 29th, 2008

Well, it’s not really news that the Treo 800W is coming, but it’s become quite a bit more official seeing this roadmap and while the carrier has been rumored to be Sprint for a while, this too is now confirmed. I am evaluating the Sprint version of the BlackJack II, the Samsung Ace right now, but I am really looking forward to this release. Palm Treos have done a ton for the Windows Mobile community and the form factor and implementation of Windows Mobile has been excellent in the past. The Verizon 700w offering at CES 2006 was ground ...

Poll : What is the “Perfect” Phone Form Factor?

March 28th, 2008

I am always in search of the perfect phone. My preference changes from front facing keyboard to slider as often as my wife buys shoes. When the i-mate Kjam came out a few years ago, I was all over it and fell in love with the slide out full qwerty keyboard. Then came the BlackJack, the Moto Q, and the Palm Treo 750. I loved those too. Very good for email replies and such. I carried the BlackJack and the Palm Treo for quite a while before going back to another slider, the AT&T Tilt. Right now I am ...

Microsoft Surface in the Home: Try 2011

March 28th, 2008

Msft-surface2The last we heard Microsoft was saying that they were aiming to get their Surface technology into the consumer market as soon as possible. Now we perhaps have a better definition of ASAP (although I’m sure it is really to early to tell.) CNN Money/Fortune says that Microsoft is aiming to put a consumer version of Microsoft Surface in homes in 2011.

While I’d have to get a new and larger home to put one of these in, I’d still love Microsoft to think ...

March 27th, 2008

Last month, I had the opportunity to speak with Lenny Englehardt,  N-Trig's Vice President of Business Development. We had such a good conversation that we're planning a special podcast to discuss these items in more depth, as well as follow-up with some more reader questions. Follow the Read More link for the complete interview. ...
