Word has been bouncing around for the last day or so that the Medion Ultra-Mobile PC is going to be delayed a bit. (Hat tip to Steve at Origami Portal and Carrypad.) Now comes word from the same source that there will also be some competition with the same form factor although a number of sites, (including Engadget) didn’t pick up that this is the same device from Arima. HP’s
latest entry into the Tabletscape is now available for ordering on the
HP website. The Pavilion tx1000z series is a touchscreen convertible Tablet PC
running an AMD Turion 64 X2 dual-core processor, touted as offering enhanced virus
protection and well as longer battery life. There are more configuration options than
you can shake a stylus at available from choosing which Vista SKU to install, to memory,
to HD size, etc…

Last week, electronics giant Canon lost a big court decision to a little Texas company, Nano Proprietary. Nano Proprietary holds patents on some of the technology necessary to develop the new surface emitter displays: SEDs. According to a Reuters report, Canon paid Nano a one-time $5.6 million licensing fee for the use of those patents. Then Canon teamed up with Toshiba to develop SED technology jointly, and created some beautiful displays that attracted drooling mobs at trade shows including CES.

and I were told at CES that there were not going to be drivers released for the R2H
and Vista. We have been trying different drivers and with lots of hard work
many things are working to a point of at least being usable. Well in this post
